How do I use soap nuts? Simply place 4-6 soap nuts in the mesh bag (I use five), then toss it in with your laundry. If you are using cold water, first run the soap nuts under warm water to activate them, then put them in the washer. After the laundry load is done, lay the soap nuts out to dry. Soap nuts can be used up to 7 times but when they start to feel soft and get gray in color, it’s time to put them in the compost bin.
